via molls via nikkimorrison ah! my childhood was Tomie dePaola books, with a dash of Jan Brett, and “If You Give a Mouse a Cookie”.  then I got a little full of myself in second grade and switched to chapter books I couldn’t understand and Ann Rinaldi’s historical fiction…but I’ll always love Strega Nona’s magic pasta pot.
